It was established on 19 August 1982.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>History:<\/strong><br>\nOriginally focused on victims of the<strong>&nbsp;1982 Lebanon War.&nbsp;<\/strong>A\nlarge number of innocent Lebanese and Palestinian children being the victims of\nthe aggression acts by Israel\u2019s. So, at its special emergency session on&nbsp;<strong>19 August 1982,<\/strong>&nbsp;the\nmembers of the General Assembly of Palestine was shocked. Therefore, the\nassembly decided to celebrate 4th June as the<strong>&nbsp;International Day of Innocent Children Victims of\nAggression under the resolution ES-7\/8.<\/strong><br><strong>UN&#8217;s<\/strong>&nbsp;purpose expanded to acknowledge the<strong>&nbsp;pain suffered by children<\/strong>&nbsp;throughout\nthe world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. This day\naffirms the UN&#8217;s commitment to protect the rights of children. It was a\nlandmark development in efforts to improve the protection of children in\nconflict situations.<br>\nIn recent years, the number of violations\nperpetrated against children have, in many conflict zones, increased. More\nneeds to be done to protect the<strong>&nbsp;250\nmillion children&nbsp;<\/strong>living in countries and areas affected by\nconflict. More must be done to protect children from targeting by violent\nextremists, to promote&nbsp;<strong>international\nhumanitarian and human rights law<\/strong>, and to ensure accountability\nfor violations of the rights of children.<br><br><strong>2030\nAgenda for Sustainable Development:<\/strong><br>\nThe&nbsp;<strong>2030\nAgenda for Sustainable Development&nbsp;<\/strong>provides us with the\nuniversal masterplan to&nbsp;<strong>secure\na better future for children.&nbsp;<\/strong>The new agenda included for\nthe first time<strong>&nbsp;a\nspecific target<\/strong>&nbsp;to end all forms of violence against\nchildren, and ending the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children are\nmainstreamed across several other violence-related targets.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression&nbsp;is a&nbsp;United Nations&nbsp;observance each&nbsp;4 June.
