Goa Goa CM Pramod Sawant explained the occasion of\nWorld Environment Day&nbsp;<br>\nHe released a book&nbsp;<strong>\u201cCorals and\nCrabs\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong>jointly published by the Forest Department of Goa\nand WWF-India at the Goa Science Centre Auditorium in Panaji.&nbsp;<br>\nCorals and Crabs is a first step towards\nbridging this existing knowledge gap and bringing amazing marine species found\nin the reefs of Goa such as Stingrays, Lionfish, Ghost Pipefish, Decorator\nCrabs and a whole array of Sea Slugs.<br>\nThe book features over 30 stunning photographs\nof marine habitats and biodiversity taken during WWF-India\u2019s underwater surveys\nat dive sites around Grand Island in 2018 to assess the impact of diving on the\nreefs around the island.<br>\nIncreasing marine based tourism made protection\nand monitoring of these habitats critical.&nbsp;<br>\nExperiences such as scuba diving, snorkeling and\ndolphin watching, while an important source of revenue for the state and an\nenriching experience for tourists, tend to mount pressure on marine habitats\nand wildlife.<br><br><strong>About Goa<\/strong><br>\nCapital: Panaji<br>\nGovernor: Mridula Sinha<br>\nChief Minister: Pramod Sawant\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goa&nbsp;harbors its coral reefs into the lesser known reefs around Grande Island.
