India <\/strong>ranked 95th\nout of 129 countries<\/strong> in the Sustainable Development Goals Gender\nIndex<\/strong>. India\u2019s score of 56.2 <\/strong>on a scale of 0\u2013100.<\/strong>The index found\nthat no country has fully achieved te gender equality and that the global\naverage score of65.7 out\nof 100 <\/strong>which falls in the poor category. <\/strong>

Parameters:<\/strong>
\nSDG Gender Index a new index that measures global gender equality<\/strong> considering\nvarious parameters such as education,\nliteracy, political representation, poverty, health, and equality at the\nworkplace.<\/strong> The SDG gender index included 51 indicators<\/strong> across 14 of the 17 official <\/strong>Sustainable\nDevelopment Goals. The list covered 129\ncountries <\/strong>across all regions of the world.

Index\ndeveloped by:<\/strong>
\nThe SDG Gender Index was developed by UK-based Equal Measures 2030<\/strong> along\nwith regional and global organisations including Asian-Pacific Resource and Research\nCentre for Women, <\/strong>African Women’s Development and\nCommunication Network, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and International\nWomen’s Health Coalition.

India\nin the list:<\/strong>
\nIndia’s highest goal scores in the Index are on\nSDG 3 of health where it secured 79.9<\/strong>, SDG 2<\/strong> of hunger\nand nutrition with 76.2 <\/strong>and SDG 7<\/strong> of energy\nwith 71.8.<\/strong>
\nIndia’s lowest goal scores in the SDG index are\non SDG 17 <\/strong>of\npartnerships, the country scored 18.3<\/strong>, SDG 9 <\/strong>of\nindustry, infrastructure and innovation with 38.1<\/strong> and SDG 13 <\/strong>of climate\nwith 43.4.<\/strong>
