{"id":1975,"date":"2019-06-21T06:04:20","date_gmt":"2019-06-21T06:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=1975"},"modified":"2019-06-21T06:04:21","modified_gmt":"2019-06-21T06:04:21","slug":"health-minister-dr-harsh-vardhan-reviews-status-of-nipah-virus-disease-in-new-delhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/health-minister-dr-harsh-vardhan-reviews-status-of-nipah-virus-disease-in-new-delhi\/","title":{"rendered":"Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan reviews status of Nipah Virus disease in New Delhi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUnion Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr.\nHarsh Vardhan reviewed the status of Nipah Virus disease in New Delhi.<br>\nA total of 316 contacts are being followed up on\na daily basis.<br>\nOne positive case admitted in Ernakulam is now\nconscious and having a mild fever and six symptomatic contacts have been\nadmitted in the quarantine facility at the Medical College and all the samples\nwere found to be negative.&nbsp;<br>\nA Sample from one symptomatic contact sent to\nNIV Lab.<br>\nStrategic Health Operation Centre (SHOC) at NCDC\nhas been activated and the activities are coordinated.&nbsp;<br>\n40 calls have been attended at SHOC- NCDC\nregarding Nipah information.<br>\nDistrict Control Room has been set up in the\nCollector Office (Helpline No. 04842425200)<br>\nJoint Commissioner(Livestock Health) deployed\ntwo experts to Ernakulam, Kerala to support local Animal Husbandry Department\nin the investigation.&nbsp;<br>\nOn the basis of the epidemiological\ninvestigation, a team from NIV Pune and Animal Husbandry are investigating bats\nand other animals in the vicinity of his (confirmed case)residence during the\npossible time of transmission of infection.<br><br><strong>About\nNipah Virus<\/strong><br>\nIt is a genus of RNA viruses belongs to the\nfamily Paramyxoviridae and order Mononegavirales containing five established\nspecies.&nbsp;<br>\nHenipaviruses are naturally harbored by pteropid\nfruit bats and microbats of several species<br>\nScientific name: Henipavirus<br>\nRank: Genus<br>\nHigher classification: Paramyxoviridae\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan reviewed the status of Nipah Virus disease in New Delhi.
