The magazine conservatively estimates his fortune totals more than $1 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Forbes has been historically opaque about its wealth calculations of the rich and famous (see: the\u00a0self-made Kylie Jenner), the report details various assets and investments that have reaped some serious profits for Jay-Z.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart\nfrom his two-plus-decade music career that boasts a $75 million catalog, a host\nof high-grossing tours, his own record label and streaming service, the rapper\nhas made major money moves in the art, fashion, liquor and tech sectors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nreport claims the Brooklyn-born entertainer holds a $310 million stake in the\nluxury champagne brand Armand de Brignac, which he acquired in 2014, as well as\nanother $100 million in his cognac label D\u2019Uss\u00e9 that reportedly continues to\ngrow 80% each year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His\ncash portfolio also tallies at&nbsp;$220 million, according to Forbes, in part\nthanks to a stake in Uber worth an estimated $70 million. The rapper previously\nsold his clothing line Rocawear, which he launched in 1999, to Iconix for $204\nmillion in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nfinally, the rapper\u2019s real estate properties around the world and extensive art\ncollection, which counts several works by the artist Basquiat, have an\nestimated value of $120 million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jay-Z\nhas often self-identified as a billionaire in a number of songs since releasing\nhis now classic debut album \u201cReasonable Doubt\u201d in 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAin\u2019t\nno such thing as an ugly billionaire, I\u2019m cute,\u201d he rapped on the track \u201cFamily\nFeud\u201d off his most recent solo effort \u201c4:44.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Forbes rates the \u201cEverything Is Love\u201d artist as the first rapper to reach the billionaire benchmark, some of his contemporaries don\u2019t trail too far behind. Dr. Dre previously declared he was\u00a0hip-hop\u2019s first billionaire.
