Retired\u00a0IAS officer\u00a0and former\u00a0Andhra Pradesh\u00a0Chief Secretary\u00a0Ajeya Kallam\u00a0was Tuesday appointed as the\u00a0principal advisor\u00a0of\u00a0Andhra Pradesh\u00a0Chief Minister\u00a0Y.S. Jagan Mohan\u00a0Reddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He will hold the rank of a cabinet minister, says the order issued by\u00a0Chief Secretary\u00a0L. V. Subrahmanyam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kallam, who retired as the\u00a0Chief Secretary\u00a0in 2017, will be\u00a0head\u00a0of the\u00a0Chief Minister’s Office\u00a0(CMO) and allot the subjects between secretaries of CMO. He will be authorised to call for advice from across the departments and all\u00a0advisors\u00a0of the government will also be accountable to him, says the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the GO, the term of appointment of Kallam will be\ninitially for three years and he will be paid a fixed remuneration of Rs 2.5\nlakh per month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government also issued orders for creation of nine posts in the office of the\u00a0Principal Advisor. Kallam was appointed on a day when 47 IAS, IPS and IFS officers were transferred as Jagan Reddy, who took over as the\u00a0Chief Minister\u00a0last week, continued rejig in the administration. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
