Jammu and Kashmir government<\/strong> removed Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmad.
\nThey decided to take long term measures to\nimprove the functioning of the bank so that it becomes an example of a well\nmanaged government-owned bank.
\nThey appointed R K Chibber<\/strong> as\ninterim chairman of the lender.
\nAhmad was appointed in 2016 as the chairman of\nthe bank.
\nThe Vigilance Organisation made 1,200\nappointments during the previous PDP-BJP dispensation in the state during\nAhmad’s tenure as chairman of the bank.
\nJammu and Kashmir Bank decided to take long term\nmeasures to improve the functioning of the bank and it becomes a shining\nexample of a well managed government-owned bank.
\nLast year the Governor-led State Administrative Council (SAC)<\/strong> approved\nthe proposal for treating Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited as a public sector\nundertaking (PSU) and to make it to the state legislature from its employees.
\nThe government will re-examine the issue of\naccountability.
