International Centre for Automotive Technology\n(ICAT)<\/strong> released India\u2019s first Type Approval\nCertificate (TAC) for Bharat Stage – VI (BS \u2013 VI) norms for the two-wheeler\nsegment in New Delhi.
\nThe certificate released and handed over by\nDirector ICAT, Dinesh Tyagi to top officials of the OEM (Original Equipment\nManufacturers). India\u2019s first certification in the two-wheeler segment for the\nBS \u2013 VI 
\nThey are the latest emission norms as notified\nby the Government of India. 

Norms\nof the ICAT – India\u2019s 1st BS \u2013 VI Certificate in Two Wheeler Segment <\/strong>
\nThe ICAT drive through many steps in providing\nassistance and support to the automotive industry for the development,\noptimization and calibration of engines and vehicles for complying with these\nupcoming emission norms.Bharat Stage norms are the automotive emission norms\nwhich the automotive manufacturers have to comply to sell their vehicles in\nIndia. 
\nThe norms are applicable to all two wheelers,\nthree wheelers, four wheelers.
\nThe Government of India decided to leapfrog from\nthe exiting BS \u2013 IV norms to the BS- VI, thereby skipping the BS \u2013 V norms.
\nThey are to be effective from 1st April 2020.
\nThe vehicles will be sold and registered in\nIndia from 1st April 2020 onwards which comply to these norms. The norms are\nstringent and at par with global standards.I issued the approval for BS \u2013VI\nnorms to M\/s Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles for the Heavy Commercial Vehicle\nsegment. It is the first in its segment in India.
