Turkey <\/strong>announced that it will not back down from its decision to buy Russian S-400 missile defense\nsystems <\/strong>despite U.S.’s\nultimatum.<\/strong>This has created tension between Ankara and\nWashington, the NATO allies.
\nThe S-400s <\/strong>are\nnot compatible with NATO\u2019s defense systems. US said it would compromise its F-35s<\/strong>, which\nTurkey also plans to buy. Turkey has proposed that the allies form a working\ngroup to asses the impact of the S-400s, but has yet to receive a response from\nthe United States.

US’\nurge:<\/strong>
\nU.S. urged Turkey to abandon its purchase of\na Russian missile\ndefence system.<\/strong> If Turkey does not end the deal, U.S. said\nthat it would expel the Turkish pilots training on the F-35 fighter jet\nprogramme.
Turkish\nForeign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu <\/strong>suggested an offer to set up a joint working group to resolve U.S.\nconcerns.
