\u2018Badshah of Bollywood\u2019 or \u2018King\nKhan\u2019, as he is referred to, having appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films\ntill date, is all set to lead the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne as the\nchief guest to celebrate \u2018courage\u2019 as its central theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indian Film Festival Melbourne is\nback for its 10th edition in the cultural city. Shah Rukh Khan feeling honoured\nand delighted to accept the invitation said, \u201cAn industry of our magnitude and\ndiversity deserves to be celebrated with great passion and fervour, which is\nwhat the festival embodies\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’m particularly pleased with the theme\nof the festival this year which is courage, an emotion that resonates with\nstorytellers who really have the might to change the society and the world. I\nhave had great memories of shooting for ‘Chak De! India’ in Melbourne and look\nforward to being back again, this time to celebrate Indian cinema,” the\nactor said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khan will open the IFFM on August 8\nalong with the other festival guests and in the company of Victorian Premier\nDaniel Andrews and festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andrews said he is looking forward to\nhaving the Indian actor as part of the festival. “This event has grown\nsignificantly over the past decade and with the extraordinary Shah Rukh Khan\nhere, this year’s festival is shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting yet,”\nhe added.\n\nKhan is looking forward to being back to Melbourne to celebrate Indian\ncinema. Earlier, several actors like Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan, Aishwarya Rai\nBachchan and Rishi Kapoor have remained a part of the film festival. On the\nwork front, Khan is busy with shooting for Ted Talks on Star Plus.
