{"id":23746,"date":"2020-06-21T07:55:29","date_gmt":"2020-06-21T07:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=23746"},"modified":"2020-06-21T07:55:31","modified_gmt":"2020-06-21T07:55:31","slug":"ccmb-igib-develops-digital-surveillance-to-monitor-and-control-covid-19-spread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/ccmb-igib-develops-digital-surveillance-to-monitor-and-control-covid-19-spread\/","title":{"rendered":"CCMB, IGIB develops digital surveillance to monitor and control COVID-19 spread"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB)<\/strong>&nbsp;and the<strong>&nbsp;Institute of Genetics and Integrated Biology (IGIB)<\/strong>, along with a few other institutions is currently developing digital and molecular surveillance of the spread of novel coronavirus to understand the biology, epidemiology and disease impact. &nbsp;<br><br><strong><u>Highlights:<\/u><\/strong><br>\u2666 The surveillance centre would be established at IGIB where all the labs, research centres, and hospitals will share their data through cloud sharing.<br>\u2666 The surveillance will be done at three levels namely the virus, the patient, and the clinical course of the patient.&nbsp;<br>\u2666 Surveillance at the<strong>&nbsp;virus level&nbsp;<\/strong>refers to the genome of the virus. For this, CCMB plays a major role, as it would provide the genome sequences.&nbsp;<br>\u2666 The second part deals with the&nbsp;<strong>patient data,<\/strong>&nbsp;which is details of the patients looking at the clinical samples.&nbsp;<br>\u2666 Thirdly, the&nbsp;<strong>clinical course&nbsp;<\/strong>details would be clinical care data or hospital data that leads to outcomes.
