{"id":24508,"date":"2020-07-07T06:49:03","date_gmt":"2020-07-07T06:49:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=24508"},"modified":"2020-07-07T06:49:05","modified_gmt":"2020-07-07T06:49:05","slug":"indian-railways-plan-behind-two-new-trains-super-anaconda-and-sesh-naag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/indian-railways-plan-behind-two-new-trains-super-anaconda-and-sesh-naag\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Railways&#8217; plan behind two new trains &#8216;Super Anaconda&#8217; and &#8216;Sesh Naag&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Indian Railways&#8217; South East Central Railway(SECR) zone has recently operated two freight trains named as &#8216;Super Anaconda&#8217; and &#8216;Sesh Naag&#8217; which garnered a lot of eyeballs due to their massive length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key-Points<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Sesh Naag&#8217; also earned the distinction of being the longest railway train to run on the Indian Railways network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Railways operated&#8217; Sesh Naag&#8217; from the Nagpur division to the Bilaspur division which travelled a total distance of 260 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the rakes were combined at the Parmalkasa station at Chattisgarh and travelled till Korba for the loading of coal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 251 empty wagons was transported between both the sations with the help of four electric locomotives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The train operated at an average speed of 65kmph while the top speed of the train was 80kmph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SECR also successfully operated 177 loaded wagons with three freight trains combined together between Lajkura &amp; Raurkela in Odisha and termed it as &#8216;Super Anaconda&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total weight of the train was more than 15,000 tonnes and was hauled by four electric locomotives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Railways trying to move multiple freight rakes together as it helps in saving the transportation time and also help in the decongestion of the rail route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Railways is prioritising the movement of freight trains in its network as the passenger trains are not running in full utilisation due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian Railways&#8217; South East Central Railway(SECR) zone has recently operated two freight trains named as &#8216;Super Anaconda&#8217; and &#8216;Sesh Naag&#8217; which garnered a lot of eyeballs due to their massive length.
