The decision was taken\nby the&nbsp;<strong>Board of\nDirectors of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank.&nbsp;<\/strong>The move will\nensure greater transparency and accountability. The decision is after the\nremoval of Parvez Ahmed as the Chairman of the J&amp;K Bank. He was accused of\nalleged corruption, nepotism and favouritism.&nbsp;<br>\nBeing a government-owned bank, the bank without\nany choice is to be under RTI. It has been registered under the companies act\nas a government company. The bank is expected to be brought under the&nbsp;<strong>RTI and CVC guidelines<\/strong>&nbsp;by\nthe end of June.<br><br><strong>J&amp;K\nBank:<\/strong><br><strong>Founded\non:&nbsp;<\/strong>1 October 1938<br><strong>Headquarters:&nbsp;<\/strong>Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir<br><strong>Interim\nChairman:&nbsp;<\/strong>RK Chibber<br>\nJ&amp;K Bank was the first bank in the country\nto emerge as a state\u2013owned bank.<br><br><strong>CVC:<\/strong>&nbsp;Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex\nIndian governmental body created in 1964 to address governmental\ncorruption.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>RTI:<\/strong>&nbsp;Right to Information Act provides for setting\nout the practical regime of the right to information for citizens and replaces\nthe erstwhile Freedom of information Act, 2002.
