{"id":2473,"date":"2019-06-22T02:20:52","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T02:20:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=2473"},"modified":"2019-07-07T06:21:11","modified_gmt":"2019-07-07T06:21:11","slug":"pakistan-failed-to-fulfill-fatf-standard-to-curb-terror-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/pakistan-failed-to-fulfill-fatf-standard-to-curb-terror-funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan failed to fulfill FATF standard to curb terror funding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Pakistan<\/strong>\u00a0has\u00a0<strong>failed to<\/strong> complete\u00a0<strong>25 of the 27 requirements demanded<\/strong>\u00a0by the<strong>Financial Action Task Force (FATF)<\/strong>, international terror financing watchdog , to\u00a0<strong>curb terror funding.\u00a0<\/strong><br> FATF already warned Pakistan to take effective measures<strong>\u00a0to combat money laundering\u00a0<\/strong>and terrorist financing else the country will be placed on the \u201cgrey&#8221; list or downgrade it to the\u00a0<strong>black list.\u00a0<\/strong>Pakistan has been on\u00a0<strong>FATF\u2019s grey list since 2018.<\/strong><br> In June 2018, Pakistan committed to work with the FATF to strengthen its\u00a0<strong>anti-money laundering and combating terrorist financing\u00a0<\/strong>regimes.\u00a0<br> Because of this failure, multilateral lenders like the IMF, the World Bank and the EU may continue downgrading Pakistan, making its financial situation more precarious.
