\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIndia is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of victory in\nOperation VIJAY, <\/strong>which popularly known as the Kargil War.<\/strong> The\nKargil War is a saga of strong political, military and diplomatic actions.
\nThe Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations for the year\n2019 will be spread over three days from 25-27 July 2019 <\/strong>and will be\norganized at Dras\nand New Delhi.<\/strong> However, as part of the build up to the\nmain event, numerous activities are planned to be organized all over the\ncountry with effect from first week of July 2019.
\nThe theme <\/strong>of\nthe day is \u2018Remember,\nRejoice and Renew\u2019.<\/strong> The objective of these celebrations is to evoke feeling of nationalism\nand patriotism<\/strong> through nationwide campaigns especially\namongst youth and to pay homage to the valiant soldiers. 

Kargil\nWar:<\/strong>
\n\u2666 The Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and\nPakistan<\/strong>. It took place in Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC).<\/strong> In\nIndia, the conflict was also referred to as Operation Vijay.
\n\u2666 Cause: <\/strong>The\nPakistani soldiers disguised as Kashmiri militants and infiltereted  into\npositions on the Indian side of the LOC.
\n\u2666 Based on information from local shepherds, the\nIndian Army was able to ascertain the points of incursion and launch “Operation Vijay”<\/strong>
\n\u2666 The Army declared the mission successful\non July 26, 1999;<\/strong> since\nthen the day has been celebrated annually as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
\n\u2666 The victory came at a high price. The official\ndeath toll on the Indian side was 527, while that on the Pakistani side was\nbetween 357 and 453.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
