\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Kerala\nState Electricity Board (KSEB)<\/strong> signed a power purchase\nagreement with Kochi-based GJ\nEco Power Pvt. Ltd. <\/strong>to establish Waste-to-Energy (WtE) <\/strong>plants\nacross the State. GJ\nEco Power Pvt. Ltd.<\/strong> has been implementing the project at\nthe Brahmapuram\nsolid waste treatment plant.<\/strong>
\nThe proposed plant is expected to be\ncommissioned within 18\nmonths <\/strong>of the launch of its construction. The power\npurchase agreement was signed in the presence of Electricity Minister M.M. Mani,<\/strong> Electricity\nDepartment secretary B.\nAshok<\/strong> and KSEB chairman and managing director N.S. Pillai.<\/strong>
\nUnder the agreement, the KSEB will purchase the\npower generated from the 9.76\nMW WtE plant <\/strong>at a rate of Rs.6.17 per unit for a period of 20 years<\/strong> from\nthe commercial operation date. Kerala\nState Electricity Regulatory Commission<\/strong> has approved the\ntariff. 
\nThe company had been roped in by the Kochi Corporation<\/strong> to\nimplement the State\u2019s first WtE project in the public-private partnership mode.
\nKSEB will be supplied with 330 tonnes per day (TPD)<\/strong> of\nmunicipal solid waste by the local body. It is tasked with generating 47 million units (mu) of power.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
