Power distribution company BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) has tied up with\nseveral private organisations to launch a slew of initiatives including a\n\u2018behavioural energy saving app\u2019 to reduce electricity consumption. The app —\nSusthome — developed by BYPL and TERI to bring about a behavioural change in\nhow consumers use electricity, will track energy consumption patterns, said a\nBSES spokesperson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In first phase of the pilot project, the power discom has selected\ncooperative housing societies such as Mayur Vihar to use the app. The\ninitiative will be scaled up to cover over two lakh residential consumers in\nthe second phase, BSES-BYPL said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe app will guide enlisted consumers in reducing their energy consumption,\ncarbon footprint and electricity bills by influencing their behavioural\npatterns. It will also provide customized solutions to make all such units\nenergy-efficient,\u201d the spokesperson said. \n\nWith the launch of the initiative, the discom\naims to save around 72 million units (MUs) and help consumers save up to 10% in\nenergy bills.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
