Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar\nPrasad<\/strong> had constituted a committee chaired by Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan<\/strong> to spell out revival plans for\nTelecom sector.  The committee headed by Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan <\/strong>would submit its\nreport in 2 weeks\u2019 time.
\nAruna Sundararajan is India’s Telecom Secretary and Chairman of the Telecom\nCommission.  Aruna Sundararajan Committee will look into  the\nentire issue of removing ambiguities in ease of doing business and also to\nrevisit the whole issue of SUC.

\nCommittee’s purpose:<\/strong>
\nThe committee will review levies, including spectrum\nusage charge (SUC)<\/strong>, and promote Ease of Doing Business (EDB)<\/strong> in telecom\nsector. Reduction of levies and fees, as licence fee, SUC and universal\nservice levy, has been a long-standing demand of Telecom industry. In case\nof any issues which require clarity, committee has been directed to seek views\nof Solicitor General. Committee would also look into previous recommendations\nprovided by sectoral regulator TRAI (Telecom\nRegulatory Authority of India) <\/strong>on the issue. The Government of\nIndia is also looking into revival plan for state-owned BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) and MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam\nLimited).<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
