{"id":30462,"date":"2020-05-12T07:39:57","date_gmt":"2020-05-12T07:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=30462"},"modified":"2020-10-12T07:41:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T07:41:27","slug":"centre-released-%e2%82%b96195-crore-fund-to-14-states-to-fight-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/centre-released-%e2%82%b96195-crore-fund-to-14-states-to-fight-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre released \u20b96,195 crore fund to 14 states to fight COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The government released \u20b96,195.08 crore to 14 states as the second equated monthly instalment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant as recommended by the Finance Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant was recommended by the 15th Finance Commission (XVFC), and an equal first installment of the grant was issued by the Centre to states on 14 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre released advance payments of over \u20b91,276 crore to Kerala state, around \u20b9952 crore to Himachal Pradesh and over \u20b9638 crore to Punjab. Assam was given a fund of \u20b9631 crore, Andhra Pradesh received \u20b9491 crore, Uttarakhand received \u20b9423 crore, and West Bengal got \u20b9417 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant will help state governments to take preventive and mitigation measures for containment of the COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The states are asked to set up quarantine facilities, sample collection, and screening, and setting up additional testing laboratories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fund can be used to cover the cost of consumables, and purchase of personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare, municipal, police, and fire authorities.
