{"id":3186,"date":"2019-07-03T10:11:11","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T10:11:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=3186"},"modified":"2019-07-12T08:16:48","modified_gmt":"2019-07-12T08:16:48","slug":"odisha-govt-to-host-21st-commonwealth-table-tennis-championship-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/odisha-govt-to-host-21st-commonwealth-table-tennis-championship-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Odisha govt to host 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Odisha government today signed\nan MoU with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and Odisha State Table\nTennis Association(OSTTA) to host the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis\nChampionship 2019 at Cuttack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nchampionship will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Cuttack from July 17 to\n22 next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the\ntop Commonwealth countries are participating in the championship. The countries\nincluded \u2013India, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Srilanka, England, Scotland.\nWales, Jersey, Australia, Cyprus, South Africa, Nigeria and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sports and\nYouth Affairs Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev signed the MoU with TTFI Vice\nPresident S N Sultan and OSTTA President L N Gupta in the presence of Chief\nMinister Naveen Patnaik and Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti\nBehera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on\nthe occasion the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the MoU is important for\npromoting sports particularly table tennis in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\ncongratulated TTFI and OSTTA for partnerning with the state government for\nhosting the championship and hoped that the event will bring renewed focus on\ntable tennis in which India has been performing well in recent times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Odisha Sports\nMinister T K Behera said the championship will witness participation of some of\nthe best players from across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian\npaddlers have displayed unprecedented performance at the Asiad and in\nCommonwealth games in 2018 and the upcoming championship will be exciting to\nwatch,he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Odisha government today signed an MoU with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and Odisha State Table Tennis Association(OSTTA) to host the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2019 at Cuttack.
