Banda Singh Bahadur (born Lachman Dev) (1670 \u2013 1716), was a Sikh warrior and a commander of Khalsa army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key-Points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At age 15 he left home to become a Hindu ascetic, and was given the name \u2018\u2019Madho Das\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He established a monastery at N\u0101nded, on the bank of the river God\u0101var\u012b, where in 1708 he became a disciple of, Guru Gobind Singh, who gave him the new name of Banda Bahadur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He came to Khanda in Sonipat and assembled a fighting force and led the struggle against the Mughal Empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His first major action was the sacking of the Mughal provincial capital, Samana, in November 1709.
