Trials\nbegan on <strong>July 1<\/strong> and will continue\nfor a month. The face-recognition technology will remove the <strong>Central\nIndustrial Security Forces (CISF) <\/strong>physically checking\npassengers\u2019 government issued identification documents at the airport entrance.\n&nbsp;<br>\n&nbsp;<br>\n<strong>How it works?<\/strong><br>\n\u2666 Initially, the\npassengers should submit the documents and then a <strong>face-recognition\ncamera will capture<\/strong> the image of your face.<br>\n\u2666 The image along with\nthe details of the documents will be stored in a database.<br>\n\u2666 The passengers will be\nprovided aunique <strong>Digi Yatra ID.<\/strong><br>\n\u2666 The passengers, then,\nshould go through the security check points at the airport by just looking into\nthe camera to record and identify themselves via biometrics.&nbsp;<br>\n\u2666 This facility will also\nmean passengers may not have to show travel documents, boarding pass and\nidentity proof at checkpoints.&nbsp;<br>\n\u2666 Once the face ID and\ndocument are registered, during subsequent entries the system will be able to\nrecognise the passengers&#8217; face and document details from the database via a\nface recognition camera placed at the entry.<br>\n\u2666 Passengers will also be\nable to use unique <strong>Digi Yatra ID as documentation while\nbuying tickets<\/strong> in the future.<br>\n&nbsp;<br>\n<strong>Benefits of the technology:<\/strong><br>\nThere will be <strong>convenience and Privacy<\/strong>\ninherent in facial recognition than the prospect of giving up your identity to\nclear through security faster. This benefit comes at a low cost. Time wastage\nis less. Passegenrs need not want to carry all documents.
