{"id":35892,"date":"2021-01-31T16:00:59","date_gmt":"2021-01-31T16:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=35892"},"modified":"2021-01-31T16:00:59","modified_gmt":"2021-01-31T16:00:59","slug":"education-ministry-signed-agreement-with-world-back-to-develop-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/education-ministry-signed-agreement-with-world-back-to-develop-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Education Ministry signed agreement with World back to develop education"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ministry of Education, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), and World Bank have signed an agreement for the financial support worth Rs 5718 crore towards the implementation of the Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz-2020\/daily-quiz-january-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total cost of the STARS project is Rs 5718 crore with the financial support of the World Bank amounting to $500 million (approximately Rs 3700 crore) and the rest will be contributed as state share from the participating states, over a period of five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of STARS project in October 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Program envisions improving the overall monitoring and measurement activities in the Indian school education system through interventions in 6 States viz Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Odisha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STARS project would be implemented as a new Centrally Sponsored Scheme under Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), MOE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DoSEL, MoE is the main implementing agency at the national level.
