{"id":35925,"date":"2021-02-01T06:01:07","date_gmt":"2021-02-01T06:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=35925"},"modified":"2021-02-01T06:36:52","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T06:36:52","slug":"strong-positive-impact-of-pmjay-on-health-outcomes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/strong-positive-impact-of-pmjay-on-health-outcomes\/","title":{"rendered":"Strong Positive Impact of PMJAY on Health Outcomes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), an ambitious program and a crucial component of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, launched by Government of India in 2018, to provide healthcare access to the most vulnerable sections, has had a strong positive impact on the healthcare outcomes of those States that have adopted the healthcare scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz-2020\/daily-quiz-january-2021\/\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was stated in the Economic Survey 2020-21 which was laid by Union Minister for Finance &amp; Corporate Affairs, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proportion of households with any usual member covered under health insurance or financing scheme increased by 54 per cent from NFHS 4 to NFHS 5 in the states that adopted PMJAY, it decreased by 10 per cent in the states that did not adopt PMJAY, reflecting the success of PMJAY in enhancing health insurance coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reduction in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) was 20 per cent vis-\u00e0-vis 12 per cent in PMJAY and non-PMJAY states respectively, an increment of 8 per cent for states that adopted PMJAY versus those that did not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proportion of people ensuring family planning rose across all the states between the two surveys, the increase is much more significant in the states that adopted PM-JAY indicating its effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proportion of women with total unmet family planning needs decreased by 31 per cent in the PMJAY states, the decline in the non-PMJAY states was merely 10 per cent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), an ambitious program and a crucial component of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, launched by Government of India in 2018, to provide healthcare access to the most vulnerable sections, has had a strong positive impact on the healthcare outcomes of those States that have adopted the healthcare scheme.
