{"id":36635,"date":"2021-02-11T05:10:01","date_gmt":"2021-02-11T05:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=36635"},"modified":"2021-02-11T05:10:03","modified_gmt":"2021-02-11T05:10:03","slug":"modifications-in-pre-and-post-matric-scholarship-schemes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/modifications-in-pre-and-post-matric-scholarship-schemes\/","title":{"rendered":"Modifications in Pre and Post Matric Scholarship Schemes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Department of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment informed Lok Sabha about the Modifications in Pre and Post Matric Scholarship Schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz-2020\/daily-quiz-january-2021\/\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2021<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme wise important changes introduced are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding pattern under the scheme was revised from the concept of committed liability to a fixed sharing pattern of 60:40 between Centre and the States (90:10 in case of North Eastern States) or Notional Allocation whichever is lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Annual Family Income limit was increased from Rs. 2.00 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh in 2018 and rates of maintenance allowances were also increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Castes (SC) students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the year 2020-21, the Union Cabinet has approved the revision and continuation of the scheme from the year 2020-21 to 2025-26 which includes, inter-alia, revision of funding pattern to a sharing ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and the States (90:10 in case of NE States).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Post Matric Scholarship for OBCs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The income limit has been changed under Pre Matric Scholarship of OBC and Post Matric Scholarship for OBCs as per details given below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC increased from Rs.1.00 lakh to Rs. 2.50lakh per annum.<\/li><li>The Post Matric Scholarship for OBC increased from Rs.1.50 lakh to Rs.2.50lakh per annum.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment informed Lok Sabha about the Modifications in Pre and Post Matric Scholarship Schemes.
