{"id":3761,"date":"2019-07-15T10:14:16","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T10:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=3761"},"modified":"2019-07-15T10:14:17","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T10:14:17","slug":"us-india-strategic-and-partnership-forum-decided-the-bilateral-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/us-india-strategic-and-partnership-forum-decided-the-bilateral-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"US India Strategic and Partnership Forum decided the bilateral trade"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The bilateral trade between United States and India could reach USD 238\nbillion by 2025 from the current USD 143 billion given the present dynamics of\nthe commercial engagement, a US-based India centric advocacy group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This growth will occur if trade grows by 7.5 per cent each year, as has been the trend for the last seven years, the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF) said in a report released on the occasion of its second annual leadership summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019 (opens in a new tab)\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The USISPF\u2019s \u201cUS India Bilateral Trade Report\u201d estimate also projects that,\nby 2025, bilateral trade could range between USD 283 billion to USD 327\nbillion, at an annual average growth rate of 10 per cent-12.5 per cent (as\nwitnessed in 2017 and 2018).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe assessment underscores pathways for growth and economic opportunity in\nour bilateral ties by highlighting current trends,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sectors such as defence trade, commercial aircrafts, oil and LNG, coal,\nmachinery and electronics are areas of potential growth in US investments and\ncommerce into India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Indian industry has an opportunity to promote the automotive,\npharmaceuticals, seafood, IT and travel services to the US market, the report\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn line with the current trends and huge impending deals in aerospace and\npetroleum &amp; gas sectors between the two economies, the volume of bilateral\ntrade is likely to increase in the short to medium terms,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Observing that the US\u2013India trade relationship stands solid today with a\npromising future, the report concluded that the latest trends in increasing\nvolumes of bilateral trade between the two economies point to complementarity\nof commercial interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reaching USD 238 billion by 2025 may not be very difficult to achieve given\nthe present dynamics of the commercial engagement, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe policy gaps in the trade dynamics of the two countries have led to\nseveral contentious issues albeit trade volumes have been steadily expanding,\nsuggesting there is tremendous interest among the businesses from both sides\nand immense potential remains untapped.
