\u201cUnder the terms of reference (ToR) of the Commission, it is proposed to\nensure an assured allocation of resources towards defence and internal security\nimperatives.\u201d The amendment provides that the Fifteenth Finance Commission will\nalso examine whether a separate mechanism for funding of defence and internal\nsecurity be set up and if so, how such a mechanism could be operationalised.\nThe Fifteenth Finance Commission was constituted by the President of India in\nNovember 2017 and was constituted to give recommendations for the five-year\nperiod starting April 1, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the Commission\u2019s term up to\nNovember 30, 2019,\u201d it added. \u201cIt will enable the Commission to examine various\ncomparable estimates for financial projections in view of reforms and the new\nrealities to finalise its recommendations for the period 2020-2025.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About the Amendment of Fifteenth Finance Commission<\/strong>
The amendment provides that the Fifteenth Finance Commission examines whether a separate mechanism for funding of defence and internal security to be set up and a mechanism could be operationalized.
