Assam’s Hima Das <\/strong>won gold in the 200m event at a Tabor Athletics Meet in Czech Republic <\/strong>on 17 July<\/strong>. She clocked 23.25 seconds<\/strong>. This is her 4th win<\/strong> in 15 days. VK Vismay<\/strong>a won the silver<\/strong> and clocked 23.43 seconds. The timing is slower than her personal best of 50.79 seconds, which she managed at the Jakarta Asian Games and she also narrowly missed out on the World Championships qualifying mark of 51.80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it was better than the timing of 52.88 seconds, which she managed\nearlier in the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was Hima’s fifth gold medal since July 2 when she ran her first\ncompetitive race in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her first competitive 200m race of the year, she clocked 23.65 seconds on\nher way to gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland on July 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, she won her second 200m gold at the Kutno Athletics Meet, also\nin Poland, on July 7 with a time of 23.97 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 13, she won her third 200m gold at the Kladno Athletics Meet in\nCzech Republic with a time of 23.43 while her fourth gold came at the Tabor\nAthletics Meet in the same country on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was first competition in 400m for the 19-year-old from Assam, fondly\ncalled the ‘Dhing Express’, in the 400m event since she struggled to finish the\nAsian Athletics Championship in April this year because of a back issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, MP Jabir also won a gold in the 400-metre hurdles race, clocking\n49.66 seconds but Mohammad Anas settled for a third-place finish in the 200m\nwith a timing of 20.95 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winning a silver was Nirmal Noah Tom in the 200m event with a timing of\n46.05s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
