India’s drug regulator Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has granted permission for the restricted emergency use of Russian COVID-19 vaccine ”Sputnik V” with certain conditions, paving the way for a third vaccine to be available in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sputnik V is the third vaccine to be made available in India after the Serum Institute of India\u2019s Covishield and Bharat Biotech\u2019s Covaxin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sputnik V, developed by Russia\u2019s Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, claims to be one of the three vaccines in the world with efficacy of over 90%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
