Activist Ranjana Nirula recently passed away who was working as a committee member and former Treasurer of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was introduced to the Left movement as a student in the United States, and was active in the anti-Vietnam war movement. She came back to India in the early 1970s and joined the Left movement here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She became a full-time CITU member in 1978. She was one of the founders of the All India Democratic Women\u2019s Association (AIDWA) in Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was the Working Editor of the journal titled \u2018The Voice of the Working Woman\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2009, when CITU formed the All-India Coordination Committee of ASHA workers, she became its first convenor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
