According to the official website of PCA, Nottinghamshire all-rounder\nAshwin received a massive 61% of the supporters’ vote, well clear of\nMiddlesex’s Dawid Malan (19.7%) in second, Yorkshire’s Keshav Maharaj (11%) in\nthird and Malan’s teammate Toby Roland-Jones (8.4%) in fourth in the 4-man\nshortlist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, Ashwin won 81.53 MVP points for his efforts of\n12\/144 against Surrey, the most of any player in a single game this season.\nWarwickshire’s Jeetan Patel is a distant second with 60.98, the PCA said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashwin had joined Nottinghamshire as replacement for\nAustralia pacer James Pattinson. He played 3 matches for the county side in\nJuly and is expected to be joining the side again in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashwin has been named in India’s squad for the 2-Test series\nagainst the West Indies starting August 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
