He won the gold medal for India in the 1998 Asian Games Bangkok, Thailand in 54kg Cat. He also received Country\u2019s fourth-highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri, in 2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was a service personnel of the Indian Navy (Master Chief Petty Officer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is considered to have been one of the most outstanding boxers India ever produced. He won the King’s cup in Bangkok in 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
