<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nWorld Blood Donor Day is celebrated on 14 June each year to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion and of the critical contribution voluntary, unpaid blood donors make to national health systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, the theme, rather the slogan, for the day is ‘Give blood and keep the world beating.’ This highlights the contribution the blood donors have made in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The day also provides an opportunity to call to action to governments and national health authorities to provide adequate resources and put into place systems and infrastructures to increase the collection of blood from voluntary, non-remunerated blood donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This day was first organized by the World Health Organization on June 14, 2005. Since then, this day is celebrated to raise awareness as well as thank the various blood donors around the world who do their bit to save a life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nState Bank of India (SBI) recently launched a new loan offering \u2018Kavach Personal Loan\u2019 to provide relief to its customers who are facing financial challenges due to covid related treatment costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kavach Personal Loan is a collateral-free offering by SBI, under which a maximum of Rs 5 lakh loan can be availed at 8.5 per cent per annum for a period of 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This unique product is being offered under the collateral-free personal loan category and comes at the cheapest rate of interest under this segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This loan scheme by SBI will be under the Covid loan book that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had asked banks to create to provide relief to individuals and institutions affected due to covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RBI had created a Rs 50,000 crore liquidity window, under which banks were encouraged to borrow at the repo rate from RBI and lend to institutions to strengthen medical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Large banks, with ample liquidity, also have been permitted to use their own liquidity to lend to individuals and institutions under the Covid loan book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyLab Discovery Solutions had launched CoviSelf after receiving approval from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The price for CoviSelf kit has been set at Rs 250. According to the firm, the self-test kit offers a “comfortable, easy-to-use and accurate alternative to the current test method”. The kit can be purchased without a prescription from online channels as well as local pharmacies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the company, CoviSelf has been designed as a mid-nasal swab test which can detect positive results in just 15 minutes. Each unit contains a testing kit, instructions to use (IFU) leaflet and a bag to safely dispose of after testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She previously served as UNDP\u2019s regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, a member of the high-level panel on financing for development, and second vice president of Costa Rica from 1994 to 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whereas, for out of school children in the 16-18 years age group, financial assistance will be provided for the first time in the current session 2021-22, to continue their education through open\/distance learning mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry has developed an online module for compiling the data of out-of-school children identified by each state\/UT and their mapping with special training centres (STC) on the PRABANDH portal to track down such children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The child-wise information of the identified out of school children and STCs will be uploaded at block level under the supervision of block source coordinator of the certain block research centre (BRC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections to elect five non-permanent members who will take their seats on the 15-nation Council for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the five countries won the elections unopposed as they were the only candidates from their respective regional groups vying for the allotted seats on the Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per regional distribution for the 2021 election, three seats were available from the African and Asian States that went to Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, one Latin American and Caribbean Group seat to which Brazil was elected and the Eastern European Group seat that went to Albania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The election for the non-permanent members of the Security Council is held by secret ballot and candidates require a two-thirds majority in the General Assembly to be elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice Yadav would, however, demit the office on 25 June this year when he turns 62. Chief Justices and judges of high courts retire at the age of 62.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born on 26 June, 1959, Justice Yadav had enrolled as an advocate on 25 August, 1986. He practised on civil, revenue and constitutional sides in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also served as the deputy advocate general of Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Yadav was elevated as a judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 2 March, 2007 and a permanent judge on 15 January, 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kavach Personal Loan is a collateral-free offering by SBI, under which a maximum of Rs 5 lakh loan can be availed at 8.5 per cent per annum for a period of 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This unique product is being offered under the collateral-free personal loan category and comes at the cheapest rate of interest under this segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This loan scheme by SBI will be under the Covid loan book that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had asked banks to create to provide relief to individuals and institutions affected due to covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RBI had created a Rs 50,000 crore liquidity window, under which banks were encouraged to borrow at the repo rate from RBI and lend to institutions to strengthen medical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Large banks, with ample liquidity, also have been permitted to use their own liquidity to lend to individuals and institutions under the Covid loan book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant \u2013 Khorasan Province (ISIL-KP) is a branch of the militant Islamist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), active in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Through this, they will facilitate age appropriate admissions of children in the age group of 6-14 years and those belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whereas, for out of school children in the 16-18 years age group, financial assistance will be provided for the first time in the current session 2021-22, to continue their education through open\/distance learning mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant \u2013 Khorasan Province (ISIL-KP) is a branch of the militant Islamist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), active in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Some media sources also use the terms ISK, ISISK, IS-KP, or ISIS-K in referring to the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its main activity is in the border region of eastern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. However, its area of operations also includes other parts of South Asia, such as India where individuals have pledged allegiance to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khorasan (also transcribed as Khurasan and Khorassan) was a province in north eastern Iran, but historically referred to a much larger area comprising the east and north-east of the Persian Empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebecca Grynspan will be the first woman and Central American to lead the Geneva-based organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was nominated by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as secretary-general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It supports developing countries in their efforts to benefit from the globalised economy and to deal with potential drawbacks from economic integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She previously served as UNDP\u2019s regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, a member of the high-level panel on financing for development, and second vice president of Costa Rica from 1994 to 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ministry of Education launched \u2018PRABANDH\u2019 portal<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nUnion Education Ministry recently launched an online module to compile data on out-of-school children. Through this, they will facilitate age appropriate admissions of children in the age group of 6-14 years and those belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whereas, for out of school children in the 16-18 years age group, financial assistance will be provided for the first time in the current session 2021-22, to continue their education through open\/distance learning mode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry has developed an online module for compiling the data of out-of-school children identified by each state\/UT and their mapping with special training centres (STC) on the PRABANDH portal to track down such children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The child-wise information of the identified out of school children and STCs will be uploaded at block level under the supervision of block source coordinator of the certain block research centre (BRC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UN Security Council (UNSC)\u2019s non-permanent members for 2022-23 term<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nFor the 2022-23 term, Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates were elected unopposed to the powerful UN Security Council as non-permanent members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections to elect five non-permanent members who will take their seats on the 15-nation Council for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the five countries won the elections unopposed as they were the only candidates from their respective regional groups vying for the allotted seats on the Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per regional distribution for the 2021 election, three seats were available from the African and Asian States that went to Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, one Latin American and Caribbean Group seat to which Brazil was elected and the Eastern European Group seat that went to Albania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The election for the non-permanent members of the Security Council is held by secret ballot and candidates require a two-thirds majority in the General Assembly to be elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every year, five countries are elected to the 15-member Council as non-permanent members for a two-year term, according to a geographical rotation set by the General Assembly in 1963<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born on 26 June, 1959, Justice Yadav had enrolled as an advocate on 25 August, 1986. He practised on civil, revenue and constitutional sides in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also served as the deputy advocate general of Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Yadav was elevated as a judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 2 March, 2007 and a permanent judge on 15 January, 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nFor the 2022-23 term, Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates were elected unopposed to the powerful UN Security Council as non-permanent members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections to elect five non-permanent members who will take their seats on the 15-nation Council for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the five countries won the elections unopposed as they were the only candidates from their respective regional groups vying for the allotted seats on the Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As per regional distribution for the 2021 election, three seats were available from the African and Asian States that went to Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, one Latin American and Caribbean Group seat to which Brazil was elected and the Eastern European Group seat that went to Albania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The election for the non-permanent members of the Security Council is held by secret ballot and candidates require a two-thirds majority in the General Assembly to be elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every year, five countries are elected to the 15-member Council as non-permanent members for a two-year term, according to a geographical rotation set by the General Assembly in 1963<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It ensure fair regional representation: five from African and Asian and Pacific States; one from Eastern Europe; two from Latin American States; and two from Western European and Other States (WEOG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sanjay Yadav appointed as the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nRecently, Justice Sanjay Yadav took oath as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court at the Gandhi Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Yadav.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Yadav would, however, demit the office on 25 June this year when he turns 62. Chief Justices and judges of high courts retire at the age of 62.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born on 26 June, 1959, Justice Yadav had enrolled as an advocate on 25 August, 1986. He practised on civil, revenue and constitutional sides in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also served as the deputy advocate general of Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Yadav was elevated as a judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on 2 March, 2007 and a permanent judge on 15 January, 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brisbane is selected to the host of 2032 Olympic Games<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nAustralian City Brisbane is selected to the host of 2032 Olympics. Brisbane is set to be the first Olympics host selected unopposed under a new system to streamline and speed up bidding campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Australian city was put on the fast track to victory in February when the IOC named it as the preferred candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunita Narayan appointed to an international advisory group for climate action<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nIndia\u2019s Environmentalist, Writer and Director General of The Centre for Science & Environment, Sunita Narain has been appointed to an international advisory group for action on environment, climate and biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was appointed by Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Per Olsson Fridh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This group helps Sweden\u2019s efforts to address the halt of biodiversity, depletion of ecosystems and most importantly climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has international experts who provide a deep commitment and knowledge in the field, which is very important as strong global action on these issues is needed which will help in sustainable and equitable development. And will also prevent new pandemics and conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the leadership of Ms Narain, the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) was awarded the Stockholm Water Prize in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was appointed by Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Per Olsson Fridh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This group helps Sweden\u2019s efforts to address the halt of biodiversity, depletion of ecosystems and most importantly climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original four oceans are separated from each other by land, but the Southern Ocean is separated by the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, or ACC for short. This fast moving current moves west to east around Antarctica and is colder and less salty than the neighboring ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Antarctic Circumpolar Current is the strongest current system in the world oceans and the only ocean current linking all major oceans: the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Southern Ocean is now considered to be the second smallest ocean, with the Arctic Ocean being the smallest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This fifth ocean was first recognized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1999 and the U.S Boards on Geographic Names approved the name \u201cSouthern Ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nOn the World Oceans Day, National Geographic is adding a fifth ocean into the list, an ocean that has been unofficially recognized by scientists all over the world for many years now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The original four oceans are separated from each other by land, but the Southern Ocean is separated by the Antarctic Circumpolar Current, or ACC for short. This fast moving current moves west to east around Antarctica and is colder and less salty than the neighboring ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Antarctic Circumpolar Current is the strongest current system in the world oceans and the only ocean current linking all major oceans: the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Southern Ocean is now considered to be the second smallest ocean, with the Arctic Ocean being the smallest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This fifth ocean was first recognized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 1999 and the U.S Boards on Geographic Names approved the name \u201cSouthern Ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was in 2000, that the idea and boundaries of this new ocean were proposed to the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), but not all members of the IHO were in agreement with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
