The United Nations has said it was “deeply\nconcerned” that the government’s move on Kashmir will “exacerbate the\nhuman rights situation in the region”. “The fact that hardly any\ninformation at all is currently coming out is of great concern in itself,”\na spokesperson of the United Nations said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a tweet following Imran Khan’s meeting with the National\nSecurity Committee, the Pakistan government listed the steps in its plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“1-Downgrading of diplomatic relations with India.\n2-Suspension of bilateral trade with India. 3-Review of bilateral arrangements.\n4-Matter to be taken to UN, including the Security Council. 5-14th of August to\nbe observed in solidarity with brave Kashmiris,” the tweet read. The\nmeeting was attended by top civil and military leadership, a statement issued\nby Mr Khan’s office read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement comes a day after Imran Khan warned that\nthe Kashmir move will have “serious repercussions”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Union home minister Amit Shah said in parliament that all of\nJammu and Kashmir, including PoK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir), was an integral\npart of India, Mr Khan spoke of retaliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They (India) will do something in PoK (Pakistan\nOccupied Kashmir)… we will retaliate… Will fight till last drop of\nblood,” he said at a joint sitting of Pakistan’s parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides Pakistan, its strategic ally China has also opposed\nthe government’s move to end special status for Kashmir through a presidential\norder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Warning that India should avoid “unilaterally”\nchanging the status quo in Kashmir, China also expressed opposition to naming\nLadakh a separate Union Territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
