Reacting to the India\u2019s decision to revoke the special\nstatus, Pakistan on Monday said it \u201cstrongly condemns and rejects the\nannouncements made today by the Indian Government regarding the Indian Occupied\nJammu and Kashmir.” The part of the state in Indian control \u201cis an\ninternationally recognized disputed territory,” it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo unilateral step by the Government of India can change\nthis disputed status, as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council\n(UNSC) resolutions. Nor will this ever be acceptable to the people of Jammu\n& Kashmir and Pakistan,” the statement said. \u201cAs a party to this\ninternational dispute, Pakistan will exercise all possible options to counter\nthe illegal steps.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPakistan reaffirms its abiding commitment to the Kashmir\ncause and its political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Occupied\nJammu and Kashmir for the realization of their inalienable right to\nself-determination,” it added.\n\nAnalysts have said India will have to look at\nPakistan raising the Kashmir issue at all possible fora, including at the\nforthcoming session of the UN General Assembly in September.
