“With VSSC and the Kerala Government joining hands for\nthe project, Kerala is set to make major strides in space technology sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This partnership will create an ideal ambience for advanced\nresearch and development in space technology,” the chief minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement will facilitate VSSC to support the states\nproject to set up the countrys first state-of-the-art Space Systems Park at\nKnowledge City in Thiruvanathapuram to attract global start-ups in the space\nsector and make it a major manufacturing hub for space-related technology,\nresearch and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This agreement will enable to tap the full potential\nof Kerala in space research. The Space Park will also generate plenty of job\nopportunities,” Somanath said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Knowledge Centre and Space Museum, to be\ndeveloped by VSSC, a major centre of Indian Space Research Organisation, as a\nbefitting memorial to the former president and top space scientist, will be\npart of the overall infrastructure of the SpacePark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Secretary Tom Jose, M C Dathan, Scientific Advisor to\nChief Minister, IT Mission Director S Chithra, ISRO Inertial Systems Unit\nDirector Dr D Sam Dayala Dev, LPSC Director Dr V Naryanan, Space Park Special\nOfficer Dr Santhosh Kurup, Kerala IT Park CEO Hrishikesh Nair, among others,\nattended the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the MOU, VSSC will support Kerala Space Park in the\ntechnical and leadership responsibility and promote the SMEs, startups and\nother partner entities in developing products and services for the Space\nIndustry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MOU also states VSSC’s interest in providing\nopportunities for companies operating out of the Space Park to participate in\nits procurement process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this partnership, startups and SMEs will have access\nto VSSCs experts in the design to commercialising stages of development, a\nrelease said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kerala Space Park will join hands with VSSC in organising\ninternational events and attract global space companies to Kerala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is expected to open up immense global opportunities to\nprofessionals, students and industries and benefit the state in job creation\nand economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kerala Space Park has two sub verticals Space Technology\nApplication Development Ecosystem (STADE) and Nano Space park to harness both\nupstream and downstream capabilities of Space Tech domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
STADE has already signed agreements with French Space Agency\nCNES and also Airbus, for promotion of Space and Aerospace Startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project will be implemented by the Electronics and IT\nDepartment, of the state government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State Government had already allotted the land required\nfor Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Knowledge Centre and Space Museum, which will be an\nadded attraction to the Space Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government will transfer 20.01 acres as lease to the\nKerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Ltd (KSITIL) to develop the\nSpace Park at the Knowledge City within the Technocity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
