The Asia Book of Records has confirmed the record of \u2018maximum footfall in a museum in a day\u2019 in the name of Virasat-e-Khalsa, which will feature in the next edition of the Asia Book of Records, a senior official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe museum had witnessed a record footfall of 20,569\nvisitors on a single day on March 20, becoming the most visited museum in the\nIndian sub-continent on a single day,\u201d Vikas Pratap, Secretary, Department of\nTourism and Cultural Affairs (Punjab). Over 10 million visitors have visited\nthe museum so far in a short span of eight years of its opening.\nVirasat-e-Khalsa was built to commemorate the rich history and culture of\nPunjab and Sikhism and was inaugurated in November 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBetween 5,000-6,000 visitors on an average daily visit this\nvisual-cum-narrative museum, outnumbering all other museums in terms of\npopularity and visitor footfall, \u201dsaid Mr. Pratap, adding that the museum\nstands out in terms of popularity, footfall, architecture and in its use of\ntechnology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With its name in the Asia Book of Records, it would be the\nthird entry for the museum in record books. Earlier, Virasat-e-Khalsa made it\nto Limca Book of Records in the February 2019 edition and India Book of\nRecords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records had\nlisted \u2018Virasat-e-Khalsa\u2019 as the country\u2019s top-ranked museum in terms of the\nnumber of visitors.\n\nThe museum has been conferred an award by the\nPunjab Energy Development Agency in a State-level energy conservation\ncompetition, for cutting down electricity consumption.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Virasat-e-Khalsa museum in Punjab\u2019s Anandpur Sahib town is all set to find a place in the Asia Book of Records for becoming the most visited museum in the Indian sub-continent on a single day.
