The National Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA)2019 aim to honour outstanding young first generation entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders for their exceptional contribution in entrepreneurship development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With NEA, the Government of India will reward the most\ninnovative, inspiring and accomplished micro entrepreneurs to scale up their\nbusiness. The objective of these awards is to recognize the businesses and\nbusinessmen, not only to improve their marketability, but also address\ndiscontinuity towards better business systems and enhanced products &amp;\nservices with the help of a prize money. The awards ceremony will be held in\nNovember this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a total of 45 specially designed awards to be\nbestowed \u2013 39 Enterprise Awards and 6 Awards for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem\nBuilders. To be eligible for these awards, the nominee must be under the age of\n40 years;they must be first-generation entrepreneurs; the nominee\n(entrepreneur) must hold 51% or more equity and ownership of the business; and\nwomen entrants must individually or collectively own 75% or more of the\nenterprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister\nfor Skill Development &amp; Entrepreneurship, said, \u201cThis year marks the fourth\nyear of running the National Entrepreneurship Awards, and I am gratified by the\ncontinued interest of the entrepreneurs in the initiative. I would take this\nopportunity to congratulate all the people, not just from the ministry, but\nalso from private organisations and institutions who have come forward and\nvolunteered their valuable time to this cause. Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s\nvision to skill every Indian and encourage the youth towards entrepreneurship\nhas enabled us to launch many such initiatives. Entrepreneurs are able to\ncontribute much more to the country as job creators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Pandey further added\u201cIt is heartening to know that our\ninitiatives to involve every part of the country, in our skilling efforts, is\nbearing fruit. I look forward to the award ceremony on November 9 where we will\nget the chance to recognize the biggest contributors and make their\nachievements a milestone event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual awardsaim to recognise individual or\norganization(s) that have made outstanding contributions in the entrepreneur\necosystem of India. The purpose is to highlight models of excellence for others\nto emulate and improve upon.Nominations are encouraged for individuals or teams\nof individuals from across India. I therefore urge to all the budding\nentrepreneurs to come forth and be a part of this National Entrepreneurship\nAward and showcase how their contribution has made a difference in the\ncountry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winners will be felicitated in a grand Award Ceremony,\norganised by the Ministry of Skill Development &amp; Entrepreneurship, and will\nbe presented with a Trophy, Certificate and a Cash Prize of \u20b95 lakh\n(enterprises\/ individuals) and \u20b910 lakh (organizations\/ institutes). The\nceremony has been proposed to take place in November 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates will be mobilised through\nNomination\/Self-nomination, and will undergo a three-level rigorous evaluation\nprocess, wherein, in the last step the National Jury of eminent persons drawn\nfrom academia\/research, industry, social sector, banking etc., will selectthe\nwinners. To ensure excellence of the National Award, the Jury has the power to\nnot award any applicant in a given category, if applications are found\nunsatisfactory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian Institute of Technology (Madras, Delhi, Guwahati,\nKanpur), IRMA, NABARD, National Innovation Foundation, National Small\nIndustries Corporation, National Institute IAEM, Rural Development and\nSelf-employment and Training Institute, TISS, Xavier\u2019s School of Management are\nthe organisations supporting the implementation of NEA 2019. These institutes\nwill assist in outreach and primary selection of award entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NEA has seen winners go on and become some of the\nbiggest companies in the country like Wow Momo Foods Private Ltd and Jet Set Go\nAviation servicesin 2016; Rays Culinary Delights Pvt. Ltd. (that owns Sattviko\nbrand) and Oravel Stays Pvt. Ltd. (that owns Oyo brand) in 2017; and Varun\nEngineering Works in 2018, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About National Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As an important step to catalyse a cultural shift in youth\nfor entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship\n(MSDE) has instituted the National Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA) to recognise\nand honor outstanding young first generation Entrepreneurs and their Ecosystem\nBuilders for their outstanding contribution in entrepreneurship development.The\nNational Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA 2019) is the 4th edition in the NEA\nseries.
