Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nHe was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the\nMukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojna of the Jharkhand Government, in Ranchi,\nJharkhand today. Lauding the Jharkhand government for coming up with the\nscheme, he expressed hope that it would go a long way in addressing\nagricultural distress in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the scheme, all the small and marginal farmers of the\nstate, who have arable land up to a maximum of 5 acres, will be given a grant-in-aid\nat the rate of Rs. 5000 \/ – per acre per year, which will also reduce their\ndependence on loans. This amount would be given in two installments through\nDirect Benefit Transfer to the beneficiary\u2019s bank account. This is in addition\nto PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana under which each small & marginal farmer\u2019s family\nhaving combined landholding\/ ownership of up to two hectares is paid Rs. 6, 000\nper year, said the Vice President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shri. Naidu opined that Direct Benefit Transfer would\neliminate middlemen and ensure that every penny of the financial assistance\ngiven by the government reaches the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vice President said that the Government of India had\ntaken a firm resolve to double the income of farmers by 2022. He added that the\ngovernment was continuously increasing the minimum support price of food grains\nto achieve this objective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asserted that our development would be meaningless until\nthe benefits of progress reached the rural areas and made the lives of our\nfarmers better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vice President also stressed the need for water\nconservation and said that \u201cConservation of natural resources like water is\nessential. For this, a massive campaign of rainwater conservation should be\ncarried out, which will replenish our ground water\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He cautioned that groundwater levels are continuously\nfalling due to uncontrolled exploitation of groundwater. Due to which the cost\nof irrigation is increasing. The Vice President also urged the farmers to adopt\ntraditional techniques to support groundwater conservation.\n\nThe Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Draupadi Murmu,\nthe Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Raghuvar Das, the Deputy Chairman of\nRajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh, the Minister of Agriculture, Animal\nHusbandry and Co-operative Department, Government of Jharkhand, Shri Randhir\nKumar Singh and others were present on the occasion.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
