{"id":4722,"date":"2019-08-14T09:24:43","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T09:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=4722"},"modified":"2020-07-11T08:17:44","modified_gmt":"2020-07-11T08:17:44","slug":"odisha-government-released-draft-state-agriculture-policy-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/odisha-government-released-draft-state-agriculture-policy-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Odisha government released draft state Agriculture Policy 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Odisha government released draft state Agriculture Policy 2019 aimed at the continuation of Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme for the next five years and steps for increasing income of farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Odisha&#8217;s Agriculture Policy 2019<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Odisha&#8217;s Agriculture Policy 2019 is focused on\nfarmers&#8217; well-being and is formulated to build on the inherent strengths of its\nagriculture and allied sectors, to address the constraints it faces and to make\noptimal use of resources and opportunities emerging on account of advancement\nin technology, and the emergence of accelerated economic growth in the state\nand the country,&#8221; the policy states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This policy will actualise the vast untapped potential of\nOdisha agriculture, strengthen the economic and social well-being of its\nfarmers, sharecroppers, and landless labourers while ensuring the growth\nprocess is environmentally, economically and technologically inclusive,\nscalable and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Odisha government announced its first agriculture policy\nin 1996 and subsequent policies were announced in 2008 and 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state farmers&#8217; incomes grew more than seven times\nbetween 2002-03 and 2015-16. During this period, the monthly average income of\na farmer was increased from Rs 1,062 to Rs 7,731 indicating a growth of 16.5\nper cent in nominal terms and 8.4 per cent in real terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state Agriculture Policy will adopt a 360-degree\nreform-approach to achieve continuous growth in farmer incomes and to ensure\nsustainable, stable and scalable agricultural growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Odisha government released draft state Agriculture Policy 2019 aimed at the continuation of Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme for the next five years and steps for increasing income of farmers.
