Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nCleanliness survey<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Launching the fifth edition of the annual cleanliness survey\nwhich will culminate in January 2020, Swachh Survekshan 2020, Union Minister of\nState (independent charge) Hardeep Singh Puri also inaugurated the Swachh Nagar\napp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The MoHUA secretary, Durga Shanker Mishra, said the Swachh Nagar app would let users place a request to have waste picked up from their homes and make the payment for the same. He said the app had been tested in Gurugram and in some of the General Pool Residential Accommodation colonies for government staff. It was already functional in Agra, Palwal and Port Blair and would now be extended to the whole country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Water+ protocol<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The Minister also launched the Water+ protocol for cities. A\ncity could be given the tag of Water+ if it ensures 100% treatment of\nwastewater and 10% use of treated wastewater, among other things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also launched another app \u2014 mSBM \u2014 through which the\ngovernment would be able to check whether funds given to beneficiaries of the\nSwachh Bharat Mission for constructing toilets are used for the work before\nreleasing the second instalment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Status of application<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis app will not only facilitate the applicants of\nIndividual Household Toilets under SBM-Urban to know the status of their\napplication in real-time after uploading the photograph but also help them\nupload the correct photo,\u201d a statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked about the progress of the construction of toilets\nunder the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, particularly in Delhi, Mr. Puri said it\nwas the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board\u2019s responsibility to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Delhi government wants that everything should be given\nfree, but urban development does not work like that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
