The launch of CORAS is aimed at providing security to the\nRailway passengers. It has been launched to meet the challenges to Railway\nsecurity. It also ensures to develop world level capabilities of specialized\nresponder for any situation pertaining to damage, disturbance, disruption of\ntrain operations, attack\/hostage\/hijack, disaster situations in railway areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commando for Railway Security (CORAS):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
CORAS will be a special Railway Unit and a separate Commando\nUnit of RPF. It is a result of detailed policy formulation. Railway Protection\nForce is always involved in protecting Railway passengers and Railway property\nin far and inaccessible threat prone areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
CORAS team, a protection force, will be provided with the\nbest, most modern equipment and world class training. A new state of the art\ncommando training centre will be established in Jagadhri, Haryana.
