Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nKashmir’s Untold Story: Declassified, the book penned by\nfilmmaker Iqbal Chand Malhotra and defence analyst Maroof Raza, will hit stands\non September 18. The book, which comes after the scrapping of Article 370 and\n35A earlier this month, will also shed light on why the special status was\n“integral to the accession treaty”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former state has now been bifurcated into two union\nterritories — J&K and Ladakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The book reveals amazing insights into the Government\nof India’s policy towards the state, right from 1889, when it first imposed\ncentral rule and dispossessed the rule of the then Maharaja, till date,”\nBloomsbury said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Publishers said that it will also provide answers to some of\nthe most asked questions on the situation in the Valley, like “Why has\nthis state of siege in the Kashmir valley continued for 72 years since the\nPartition of India?”, “What role has Pakistan played in it all these\nyears?”, or the question of the hour, “Will there ever be a\nresolution to the militancy in the state?”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“… It provides answers to these gripping questions\nand joins the dots in presenting the matrix of a consistent and compelling\nargument regarding the future of the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” they\nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other pressing issues that will be dealt with in the book\nwill include “China’s interests in J&K”, “Islamic\nJihad” and the “Indus Water Treaty (IWT)” — water-distribution\ntreaty between India and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Today, the state’s water resources are coveted by the\nbeleaguered Chinese microchip industry and it appears that this is going to\ndetermine the continuing militancy in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
