Gestational diabetes is different from Type 1 diabetes. GDM is not caused by the lack of insulin, but by other hormones produced during pregnancy that can make insulin less effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India and Bhutan have been engaged in space cooperation with a ground Earth station for South Asia Satellite (SAS) that was inaugurated in Thimphu, Bhutan during Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s visit in August 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SAS was launched by India in 2017 as a gift to the countries in the South Asia region, including Bhutan. Under the project, New Delhi has offered increased bandwidth on an additional transponder on the satellite for Bhutan as a gift as per the country\u2019s requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These one crore additional PMUY connections (under Ujjwala 2.0) aim to provide deposit-free LPG connections to those low-income families who could not be covered under the earlier phase of PMUY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Narendra Modi launched ‘Ujjwala 2.0’<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nPrime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched ‘Ujjwala 2.0’ by handing over new LPG connections at Mahoba of Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During Ujjwala 1.0 launched in 2016, a target was set to provide LPG connections to 5 crore women members of BPL households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequently, the scheme was expanded in April 2018 to include women beneficiaries from seven more categories (SC\/ST, PMAY, AAY, Most backward classes, tea garden, forest dwellers, Islands).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, the target was revised to 8 Crore LPG connections. This target was achieved in August 2019, seven months ahead of the target date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Union budget for FY 21-22, provision for an additional one crore LPG connection under the PMUY scheme was announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These one crore additional PMUY connections (under Ujjwala 2.0) aim to provide deposit-free LPG connections to those low-income families who could not be covered under the earlier phase of PMUY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World\u2019s first Bio-Bank in Ayurveda at AIIA<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nAyush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has assured all help for establishing the first Bio-Bank of the world in Ayurveda at All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AIIA is a public Ayurveda medicine and research institution located in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was established in 2015. It is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The institute would offer postgraduate and doctoral courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda and will focus on fundamental research of Ayurveda, drug development, standardization, quality control, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rameswar Teli launched 3rd ONGC handicraft project<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nMinister of State (MoS) Rameswar Teli launched ONGC-supported Assam Handloom project \u2018Ujjwal Abahan\u2019 on 6 August 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project will support and train over a hundred artisans of Bhatiapar of Sivasagar, Assam in Hathkharga handicraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This project is in line with the government\u2019s observance of \u201cAzadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u201d, under which ONGC has earlier launched two projects supporting the indigenous handicrafts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Observing India\u2019s 75th year of independence, PSUs under the Petroleum and natural gas ministry have undertaken 75 projects to be supported to commemorate each year of Independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will support and train over a hundred artisans of Bhatiapar of Sivasagar, Assam in Hathkharga handicraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Ujjwala 1.0 launched in 2016, a target was set to provide LPG connections to 5 crore women members of BPL households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequently, the scheme was expanded in April 2018 to include women beneficiaries from seven more categories (SC\/ST, PMAY, AAY, Most backward classes, tea garden, forest dwellers, Islands).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, the target was revised to 8 Crore LPG connections. This target was achieved in August 2019, seven months ahead of the target date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Union budget for FY 21-22, provision for an additional one crore LPG connection under the PMUY scheme was announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These one crore additional PMUY connections (under Ujjwala 2.0) aim to provide deposit-free LPG connections to those low-income families who could not be covered under the earlier phase of PMUY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Open Debate focussed on ways to effectively counter maritime crime and insecurity and strengthened coordination in the maritime domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi put forward the vision of SAGAR – an acronym for \u2018Security and Growth for all in the Region\u2019 in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2019, at the East Asia Summit, this initiative was further elaborated through the Indo-Pacific Oceans\u2019 Initiative (IPOI) with a focus on seven pillars of maritime security including<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World\u2019s first Bio-Bank in Ayurveda at AIIA<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nAyush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has assured all help for establishing the first Bio-Bank of the world in Ayurveda at All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AIIA is a public Ayurveda medicine and research institution located in New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was established in 2015. It is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The institute would offer postgraduate and doctoral courses in various disciplines of Ayurveda and will focus on fundamental research of Ayurveda, drug development, standardization, quality control, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rameswar Teli launched 3rd ONGC handicraft project<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nMinister of State (MoS) Rameswar Teli launched ONGC-supported Assam Handloom project \u2018Ujjwal Abahan\u2019 on 6 August 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project will support and train over a hundred artisans of Bhatiapar of Sivasagar, Assam in Hathkharga handicraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This project is in line with the government\u2019s observance of \u201cAzadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u201d, under which ONGC has earlier launched two projects supporting the indigenous handicrafts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Observing India\u2019s 75th year of independence, PSUs under the Petroleum and natural gas ministry have undertaken 75 projects to be supported to commemorate each year of Independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India\u2019s defence exports worth Rs 38,500 crore in last 7 years<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As per the details provided by the government in the Lok Sabha recently, India exported military hardware and systems worth Rs 38,500 crore in the last seven years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further, the value of defence exports clocked Rs 9,115.55 crore in 2019-20 and Rs 8434.84 crore in 2020-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The major arsenal exported during 2014-15 and 2020-21 included armoured protection vehicles, light-weight torpedo, weapons locating radar,fire control systems and tear gas launchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Presently, India is exporting defence equipment to more than 75 countries around the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last seven years, the aggregate defence exports stood at Rs 38,500.25 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISRO to launch earth observation satellite on August 12<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nThe Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to launch an Earth Observation Satellite on August 12 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, at Sriharikota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The satellite, EOS-03, will be carried on board the 14th flight of the GSLV, the GSLV-F10, and will place the satellite in a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The satellite will reach the final geostationary orbit using its onboard propulsion system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 4-metre diameter Ogive-shaped payload fairing is being flown for the first time in this GSLV flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The EOS-03 is a state-of-the-art agile satellite that would enable real-time monitoring of natural disasters such as floods and cyclones, monitoring of water bodies, crops, vegetation condition, forest cover changes among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
