During the programme, NISHTHA Website, Training Modules, Primer Booklet and a Mobile App were also launched by the Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasionthe HRD Minister said that this is\nthe largest teachers\u2019 training programme of its kind in the world. Giving\nfurther details, the Minister said that the basic objective of this massive\ntraining programme \u2018NISHTHA\u2019 is to motivate and equip teachers to encourage and\nfoster critical thinking in students. He said that teachers will get awareness\nand develop their skills on various aspects related to Learning Outcomes,\nCompetency Based Learning and Testing, Learner-centered Pedagogy, School Safety\nand Security, Personal-social qualities, Inclusive Education, ICT in\nteaching-learning including Artificial Intelligence, Health and well-being\nincluding yoga, Initiatives in School Education including library, eco club,\nyouth club, kitchen garden, School Leadership qualities, Environmental\nConcerns, Pre-school, Pre-vocational Education and School Based Assessment in a\njoyful learning manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teachers are the powerhouse of the nation and they must\nbe of the highest quality, the Minister elaborated. He further said that it is\nthe Prime Minister\u2019s dream that the quality of our teachers should be such that\nthey should command worldwide respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal\n\u2018Nishank\u2019 disclosed that this training programme has been included as one of\nthe two transformative ideas from this Department for the 100 days programme of\nthe Government. This integrated programme aims to build the capacities of\naround 42 lakh participants covering all teachers and Heads of Schools at the\nelementary level in all Government schools, faculty members of State Councils\nof Educational Research and Training (SCERTs), District Institutes of Education\nand Training (DIETs) as well as Block Resource Coordinators and Cluster\nResource Coordinators in all States and UTs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shri Pokhriyal highlighted that the initiative is first of\nits kind wherein standardized training modules are developed at national level\nfor all States and UTs. However, States and UTs can contextualize the training\nmodules and use their own material and resource persons also, keeping in view\nthe core topics and expected outcomes of NISHTHA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister informed that the training will be conducted\ndirectly by 33120 Key Resource Persons (KRPs) and State Resource Persons (SRP)\nidentified by the State and UTs, who will in turn be trained by 120 National\nResource Persons identified from National Council of Educational Research and\nTraining (NCERT), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration\n(NIEPA), KendriyaVidyalayaSangathan (KVS), NavodayaVidyalayaSamiti (NVS),\nCentral Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Non-Government Organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was observed that the expectation from teachers in the\npresent day is different and includes many new attributes. Teachers today are\nalso expected to be aware of the provisions regarding Gender, The Rights of\nPersons with Disabilities Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual\nOffences (POCSO) Act. The integrated programme therefore seeks to train all\nheads and teachers as first level counsellors to be alert and responsive to the\nneeds of the students, in addition to promoting joyful learning and taking\nspecial care of the requirements of special children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prominent features of this integrated programme are\nactivity based modules including educational games and quizzes,\nSocial-emotional learning, motivational interactions, team building,\npreparation for school based assessment, in-built continuous feedback\nmechanism, online monitoring and support system, training need and impact\nanalysis (Pre and Post training).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to enhance professional development of teachers,\nspecial emphasis has been given on design and development of training modules.\nThe training Modules for NISHTHA have been developed through a consultative\nprocess involving the suggestions from the States and UTs and CBSE, KVS, NVS,\nSchool Principals and Non-Governmental Organizations, such as Kaivalya\nFoundation, Tata Trust, Azim Premji Foundation and Aurobindo Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mega capacity building programme has been integrated\nwith technology to ensure smooth facilitation, availability of digital content\nand technology enabled teaching methods to support the teachers. A Mobile App\nand Learning Management System (LMS) based on MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented\nDynamic Learning Environment) have been developed by NCERT\n(https:\/\/nishtha.ncert.gov.in\/). LMS will be used for registration of Resource\nPersons and Teachers, dissemination of resources, training gap and impact\nanalysis, monitoring, mentoring and measuring the progress online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to ensure sustainable impact on classroom\ntransactions, this integrated training programme is embedded with post training\ninterventions including provision of mentoring. After the completion of KRP\ntraining, National Resource Persons will regularly be in touch with KRPs\nthrough WhatsApp\/Facebook groups etc and will form Quality Circles that will\nwork to share ideas, challenges and their solutions and best practices.
