Chunar town is also situated below the fort. Both the places are historic places with common history and legends. It is located 23 kilometers south west of Varanasi. South-eastern part of the fort touches the rocky bank of the Ganges River. The history span of the fort is from 56 BC and between Afghan decedent Sher Shah Suri\u2019s rule, the Mughal Empire rule, as well as the Maratha rule in 1782 to 1804. This Grant-in-aid is the 1st installment of Tied grants of the year 2021-22. The grants have been released as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. Tied grants are released to the Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) for improving two critical services namely (a) Sanitation and maintenance of open-defecation free (ODF) status and (b) supply of drinking water, rain water harvesting and water recycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has on Monday released an amount of Rs 13,385.70 crore to 25 States for providing grants to the Rural Local Bodies, the ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This grant-in-aid is the first instalment of Tied grants of the year 2021-22. The grants have been released as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The states are required to transfer the grants to the rural local bodies within 10 working days of their receipt from the Union Government.
