{"id":52077,"date":"2021-09-11T08:06:09","date_gmt":"2021-09-11T08:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=52077"},"modified":"2021-09-11T08:06:10","modified_gmt":"2021-09-11T08:06:10","slug":"cag-gc-murmu-gets-elected-as-asosai-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/cag-gc-murmu-gets-elected-as-asosai-chairman\/","title":{"rendered":"CAG GC Murmu gets elected as ASOSAI chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)<\/strong> of India GC Murmu on Tuesday was elected as the chairman of the assembly of Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for a period of three years from 2024 to 2027.Murmu was elected by the\u00a0<strong>56th<\/strong>\u00a0governing board of ASOSAI and approval for the same was conveyed by the\u00a0<strong>15th<\/strong>\u00a0assembly of ASOSAI. India will host the\u00a0<strong>16th assembly of ASOSAI in 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CAG, as the chairman, will be the chief executive of ASOSAI and represent ASOSAI in its dealings with national and international organizations. After the election, the CAG assured the members that during SAI India\u2019s three-year term as chair of the ASOSAI, they will focus on the areas of environmental audit and leveraging emerging technologies for audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the ASOSAI:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The ASOSAI is one of the regional groups of the&nbsp;<strong>International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI)<\/strong>&nbsp;which aims to promote understanding and cooperation among member institutions through the exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of public audit.<\/li><li>Established in&nbsp;<strong>1979<\/strong>&nbsp;with 11 members, the membership of the ASOSAI consists of charter members, members and associate members. The membership has since grown to 47 SAIs.
