The day is dedicated to raising awareness about lymphoma and the particular emotional and psychosocial challenges facing patients and caregivers suffering from different forms of lymphoma. WLAD is a global initiative, initiated in 2004 by the Lymphoma Coalition (LC), a non-profit network organisation of 83 lymphoma patient groups from 52 countries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>History of the day:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World Lymphoma Day was initiated in&nbsp;<strong>2002<\/strong>&nbsp;by the Lymphoma Coalition(link is external), a worldwide network of&nbsp;<strong>83 lymphoma patient<\/strong>&nbsp;groups based in Ontario, Canada, whose mission is enabling global impact by fostering a lymphoma ecosystem that ensures local change and evidence-based action.
