The Union Cabinet approved a Rs 26,058 crore production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for auto, auto-components, and drone industry to enhance India\u2019s manufacturing capabilities, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the total budget of Rs 26,058 crores, an amount of Rs 25,938 crores<\/strong> has been sanctioned for the automobile industry<\/strong> and Rs 120 crores for the drone industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The PLI scheme provides incentives to the industry for boosting domestic production and reduce dependence on imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NITI Aayog<\/strong>\u00a0has launched a report titled\u00a0\u2018Reforms in Urban Planning Capacity in India\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0which presents measures to ramp up urban planning capacity in India.The report, titled \u2018Reforms in Urban Planning Capacity in India\u2019, was released by NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO Shri Amitabh Kant and Special Secretary Dr K. RajeswaraRao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The report was released on September 16, 2021, jointly by NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Dr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO Shri Amitabh Kant, and Special Secretary Dr K. Rajeswara Rao. The report suggests that every city must aspire to become a \u2018Healthy City for All\u2019 by 2030.<\/strong> The report has also recommended a Central Sector Scheme named \u2018500 Healthy Cities Programme\u2019,<\/strong> for a period of 5 years. Under this priority cities and towns would be selected jointly by the states and local bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday reviewed the progress of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (DME), which is expected to halve the commute time between the national capital and the financial hub from nearly 24 hours to 12 hours. Shri\u00a0Nitin Gadkari<\/strong>\u00a0reviewed the progress of\u00a01,380 kilometers long Delhi-Mumbai Expressway<\/strong>,\u00a0being developed at a cost of\u00a0Rs 98,000 crores.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The eight-lane<\/strong> Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be covering the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once completed, the expressway will be the longest expressway in India<\/strong> and reduce the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to about 12.5 hours. The project is planned to be completed by March 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is also the first in Asia<\/strong> and only the second in the world to feature animal overpasses<\/strong>, to facilitate unrestricted movement of wildlife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to promote door-to-door digital banking and financial services in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday launched \u2018One Gram Panchayat-One\u00a0DIGI-Pay\u00a0Sakhi\u2019 in the union territory at a function here, an official spokesman said. The mission was launched at Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Pampore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The DIGI-Pay aims to promote door-to-door digital banking and financial services in remote areas of the Union Territory. Initially, the facility will be provided in 2,000 remote villages of the UT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first phase will cover 80 women from Self Help Group (SHG) from across the Jammu and Kashmir division to promote financial inclusion within the UT\u2019s SHG ecosystem and create financial access points with greater transparency even in the remotest of the areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Australia\u00a0is joining a new Indo-Pacific security partnership with the U.S. and U.K. that will allow it to acquire nuclear-powered submarines, sparking a rift with\u00a0France\u00a0at a time when the Biden administration is pushing allies to counter Chinese assertiveness. Australia, the UK, and the US\u00a0have announced a new\u00a0trilateral security partnership,\u00a0with its first initiative to develop\u00a0nuclear-powered submarines for Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The new alliance called AUKUS<\/strong> (Australia<\/strong>, UK, US<\/strong>) aims to further strengthen the existing and strong security cooperation between the three members of the grouping, and deepen ties in the Indo-Pacific region. With the development of nuclear-powered submarines, Australia will join an elite group of only six countries (India, the US, the UK, France, Russia, and China) that currently operate nuclear-powered submarines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Australia will also be only the second country to be given access to U.S. nuclear technology to build nuclear-powered submarines, after Britain in 1958.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC) has successfully issued its maiden Euro 300 million 7 year Euro Green Bond issuance on September 13.
