IIT Delhi develops a device that can generate electricity through water droplets to power small electronic devices<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

IIT Delhi researchers have designed and fabricated a device that can generate electricity from water drops, raindrops, water streams, and even from ocean waves using \u201cTriboelectric Effect\u201d and \u201cElectrostatic Induction\u201d. The device is called \u201cLiquid-solid Interface Triboelectric Nanogenerator\u201d. The generated electricity can be stored in batteries for further use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new device produces power using Triboelectric Effect and Electrostatic Induction, and further stores the energy in batteries for consumption. It can generate power of only a few Milliwatt (mW), which is sufficient to power small electronic devices like healthcare sensors, digital thermometers, watches, radio frequency transmitters, pedometers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL)<\/strong> has partnered with<\/strong> Liquid Group Pte. Ltd. (Liquid Group)<\/strong> to enable UPI QR-based payments acceptance<\/strong> in 10 markets across North Asia and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NIPL has declared in the announcement that \u201cLiquid Group, headquartered in Singapore, operates a QR payment acceptance network that enables the cross-border acceptance of payment schemes and digital payment apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership will help BHIM App users to make UPI QR-based payments in the 10 markets<\/strong> of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan, from early 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The World Bank Group has decided to discontinue publication of its Doing Business report on country investment climates following allegations of irregularities.
